Thank you so very much for your reply. It gave us comfort during Ellie's final day. She rolled onto her side and we were able to get her back to kushing position but she was at her end. Your questions helped guide us. We contacted a vet who came within hours. We all agreed that Ellie had had a very good life and this was the end. Thank you so much for "being there".How is your Llama doing? Did she get up on her own, or try? Hoping something good has happened.
Weather plays a big part in answer. And, how is she laying? Is she kushing, or on side, etc? I'd move her to shelter if rain, etc. obviously you're doing "room service" for feed/ water now. I know nothing about llama health issues but, another may see and help as my post will bring back up on list.![]()
Interesting. We found out that some large animal vets specialize in horses only. South Deerfield Veterinary Clinic in Massachusetts came and did a great job. They were thorough, knowledgeable and compassionate. We miss Ellie and now need to figure out how to safeguard our small flock of sheep against the coyotes.Ok, saw your post on another thread. Is there a breeder in your area? You might call and ask for verbal help. A zoo? A vet?
