I read "junior" and "senior" on this board a lot, and the other day read "pre-junior".

Will someone please put ages to those labels for me? Like, at what age does a rabbit become a "pre-junior", when does it change to being a "junior", etc?

Thanks in advance!

Depends on what breed you have...

For 4 class breeds (sr weight of less than 9lbs) you have:
Junior - Less than 6 months old
Senior - Over 6 months

For 6 class breeds (sr weight of 9lbs or over) you have:
Junior - Less than 6 months
Intermediate - 6-8 months
Senior - Over 8 months

Pre-Junior I beleive are 3 months or younger... but don't quote me on that one.

For French Angoras:

Pre-junior is under 3.75 pounds.
Junior is up to 6 months old and under 7.5 pounds. Large juniors may show with seniors.

There is no intermediate in FA's.

Teriffic! Thank you both very much. My guesses weren't too far off but there are some things (like it being different for different breeds, and weight mattering) that I would not have guessed.

Thanks!

If you really want, you could get the standard of perfecction book from the ARBA and has discriptions for each breed.

For New Zealands its
pre-juniors - under 3 months not over 6lbs.
juniors - under 6 months not over 9lbs with min weight of 6lbs
intermediate does - 6-8 months not over 11lbs
intermediate bucks 6-8 months not over 10lbs
sr does - 8 months and over 10-12lbs
sr bucks - 8 months and over 9-11lbs
