Got a call right after I was back out in garden... DS... are you raking the hay yet??? Ummmm... haven't heard from you if you even cut the rest of the field or anything... yes, I cut it later in the afternoon after we worked on the roof.... the little piece left in field is drier than dry, and the big 9 acres down the hill needs to either be raked or tedded and raked... the forecast is now for rain after 2 p.m. OKAAAAY, I will go up and see what the hay looks like, but don't forget the tedder has that flat tire still....

So, I went and checked out the hay... got on tractor and raked the little bit left in field he didn't finish the other day before that .1 inch rain... and then took tractor down and raked 2 passes and texted him and said I was going to just rake it. There are some green spots, but it is quite dry considering that he only cut it 15-18 hours prior... everything is just dry.

So, it is raked... he will get it baled either this eve or tomorrow before noon. Tomorrow is the Juneteenth day and the state is off work... so that will work in our favor...

I am going to go out and check the garden. I did cut off the water and then watered all the hanging and potted plants here. If it does rain tomorrow good... if not, at least they won't dry up. They were quite dry from the no humidity in the air and it has been several days since I soaked them.

I am going to hold off on any more watering in the garden but am going out now and will try to put down some mulch hay on the already watered spots to conserve the moisture and if it does rain, all the better. Then I am coming in and making some liver and onions for supper.... my beef... it will be a late supper but I want to get things done out there now that it is cooling off a bit... I like working out there in the evenings..

Almost 9 pm... OKAY, who was the dummy that put the package of frozen liver I brought in with the ice cream from the freezer in the shed, .... BACK in this freezer over the fridge, with the ice cream??????:idunno:idunno:he:he:th:th:gig:smack:smack. Guess who is not having liver and onions for supper....

Went back out in the garden for awhile. Got the space between the 2 potato rows completely mulched with hay, that was good and wet from the soaker hose today. Took the female end from the new package and got it on the soaker hose that is along the tomato plants and got it on so now that one is useable.
No new visitors to the cherry baited trap, but did see a BIG groundhog out across the field near the Christmas trees next door.. I will be taking the gun with me to the garden from now on.... It didn't run like mad across the field so obviously didn't feel I was a threat. The pint sized one that I caught may well have been an offspring of that very large one and possibly the one that got killed on the road. Go live somewhere else. I will exhibit any and all kinds of prejudice.... don't want you in my neighborhood... PERIOD.... no exceptions, ifs, ands, or buts..

So, that was my day. Weather was nice, no humidity again, hay is raked and ready to bale... I am going to take a shower and quit for the night as soon as I figure out what I want to eat....

Score is now Farmerjan 1.... groundhog 000000.... end of that game... on to the next???? Hopefully not but I expect this is only one in a series of playoff games.
I believe the groundhog scored first. Not to burst your bubble. At least you scored last, which is important in this type of game.

@CLSranch ... you are right the sorry sob did score first, but I won the game....
Sorry, but never watched Mr Roberts... I have seen bits and pieces but never watched it as a kid and never had it on for my DS.... we didn't do alot of TV for him as a baby... and he//.... I was born before TV's were a staple in the house... I can't remember TV before I was probably 8 at least... Mickey Mouse Club and Alfalfa and Spanky's gang...Tom and Jerry, Wiley E Coyote, Elmer Fudd.... some others; and Saturday mornings we were allowed TV... My Friend Flicka, Fury of Broken Wheel Ranch, Lassie, Sky King.....
Boy, I am OLD.....:old

This morning it was an opposum.... disposed of that one too as they are into the shelter after the chicken feed and stuff... Got to take more cherries out to put in trap.

Went out and let chickens out, took care of possum, then decided to put some more mulch hay down... so did a second row all the way from one end to another between the next potato row. Got sweating and feeling a little weird, and realized I hadn't eaten anything... so that is on the agenda now.

Started out with some sun early... clouded up by 9:30 .... temps only down to 62 last night so maybe starting to warm up ? Supposed to get some rain/showers/something by early afternoon. It is up to 77 already and much more muggy with the weather coming in. Before it started to cloud up, it was still hazy/smokey skies out there. Maybe some rain will knock some of the smoke out of the skies... and if this low is working it's way up, then push the smoke back up north.

Took the liver out of the freezer and is in the fridge. Try again this evening.

Took a bunch of bread heels etc out of the freezer and will make bread pudding later if it is raining out. Need to clean some of that out of the fridge/freezer so I can put other stuff in there. Probably have enough to make another double batch but that can wait for a different time. Don't need to have all that in the fridge. I do like to eat it sometimes instead of breakfast cereal though... more filling and not very sweet... sure, not exactly calorie free... but sometimes I need something filling and get tired of a sandwich at lunch or supper. This satisfies both the filling and the "need something a little sweet" craving. Plus it has 3 food groups.... Milk (dairy) , bread (wheat grains) and fruits (raisins)... That all counts right ???:hide:hide:gig:gig:bunny:bunny

Stomach is growling.. time to feed it something. And I don't think I have any cereal here, since that is all I feel like. ...:th:th:he:he

In your PRIME, Jan, not old. Repeat after me - I am in my PRIME, I am in my PRIME, I am in my PRIME . . . .
Plus it has 3 food groups.... Milk (dairy) , bread (wheat grains) and fruits (raisins)... That all counts right ???:hide:hide
Alternative foods that incude the food groups are fine. Ice cream has at least 2 - dairy, and fruit if you buy strawberry. Chocolate comes from a plant too doesn't it? So Rocky Road has dairy, fruit, and with nuts (legumes) protein. If you search, it will come . . . .

Down with thieves of garden produce, chicken feed, and eggs.
