I have a pie pumpkin and no ambition to use it for cooking. Is there any reason why I can't slice it up and feed to rabbits? Obviously, not all at once. They are used to fresh veggies in their diet.

They haven't died yet. :gig

Asked my vet (not my rabbit vet) if he thought there was any problem. He didn't think so.

I usually feed my buns all the gardens scraps so they are used to a variety of foods... but I tried pumpkin and it just sat in their cage! it was raw so not sure if that had anything to do with it... I've heard of some people cooking squash before feeding it to the animals So I'm going to try cooked pumpkin next time I try to feed it to them... see if they will eat it then... I hope I can figure out a way to get them to eat the pumpkin because I can typically find it really cheep around here after Oct. and it would be a great cheep food source!

Pumpkin would be great for your rabbits. Keep in mind the everything in moderation is best.

I put a chunk of sweet potato in a critter kabob to keep it off the ground and, thus, clean. The rabbits go nuts of sweet potato and trying to eat it off those hanging kabobs provides good mental stimulation. :)
