I've heard that goats don't graze, they only eat when they're hungry, is this true? Also, how much do Pygmies eat. I'm assuming since thy're smaller then regular-sized goats they'd eat less, right? What do pygmies eat?

Well, my goats graze, or browse. Then they'll lay down and chew their cud and take a nap. Get up and do it again. I don't know anything about pygmies, but I would think they would eat hay and browse weeds like other goats. Always have fresh minerals out for them, and I feed all my goats some grain, depending on if they're pregnant, or nursing on how much they get.

Goats do not graze...they browse. What's the difference? Grazing is basically eating grass and stuff low to the ground. Browsing includes weeds, bushes, trees and all plant material really.

Pygmies really require very little.

Hay
Browse
Water (FRESH)
Minerals (we use Sweetlix Meatmaker 16:8...it's a loose mineral)

Check out the Goat Feeding discussion link in my signature for our feeding plan (we have pygmies, an ND buck and pygerians) along with information on what others feed their goats.
