Having raised a lot of pigs commercially in the past, I remember that it's very normal for sows to shiver after giving birth.

It's been challenging. She's been really protective but when she looks aggressive we tell her no and she stops. We did lose the two runts. That was sad.
So far all is well and just hoping for the best.

Losing little pigs can be a bit hard the first time but we've all been there, its just part of it. I bet with your next batch you'll do everything you can to avoid it happening again and will learn quite a bit.

Hold those pigs upside down and they'll be less likely to squeal until you get them to a place where momma can't get you, if nothing else wrap a finger or two around their snout and they won't be able to sound the alarm.
I make sure that I give my sows eggs, fruit and milk. They don't need much but their milk is rich and the better they are fed, the better they nurse.

Update..... Mamma and 6 piglets are doing great.
She's eating well and when she gets up to eat the little piglets walk around and are rooting. Too cute.

Puppies, little pigs and babies are all tied for 1st place. Baby goats are a close second.
