Loving the herd life
I packed up three of my rabbits and entered them in their and my first show this past weekend. It was actually a double show, so they were entered twice. I entered with the intent of finding out how my herd stacks up and to obtain suggestions for improvement. I took my senior buck, one of his son's and a daughter to show, and the son (a jr.) won BOV & BOB , while the daughter took BOV (or maybe opposite) in her category(I can't remember). As this was my first show, and with the exception of the Sr buck, I was pleased to say the least, especially that a rabbit I'd bred and raised was of sufficient quality to win his breed. In the "A" show that is. The "B" is another story and really drives home the fact that it's a judges opinion and they can differ. All in all it was a pleasant experience and there were a lot of rabbits. I believe there were 1100 entered across a lot of different breeds.
