I am planning on getting an alpaca or two soon, and need a bit of help. We are moving to a three acre piece of land, and I'm hoping to build 2-3 paddocks.

Questions:
- How much space do you need per alpaca?
- What kind of housing is suitable for an alpaca?
- What breed of alpaca is easier to care for?
- What is the best feed for an alpaca?
- Need some showing advice.
- Need some shearing advice.
- About how much fiber does the average alpaca give per year?
- What is a good amount of money to sell fiber for?
- Where can you sell alpaca fiber?
- Anything you think I should know.

Thank you!

They say you can have 4-6 alpacas per acre. A 3 sided shelter is ok, they need to be able to get out of the elements including sun but you would want a way to close them in a small area to trim toenails and give meds. I think Huacaya are easier to care. An alpaca feed is best for them. You can go to Alpaca Nation for information on showing, etc.

If I cut the brush down behind a small shed/coop and put up fencing, would that be a suitable place for a couple alpacas?
