Found a yearling ram dead stuck in the fence... he was scheduled for processing in 2 weeks... guessing he was sneaking grass under the fence, got zapped and went forward instead of back??? The bottom wire is 6-8" above the ground. Guess he gets the dumb sheep award... especially since they get 8 hours of pasture plus alfalfa hay daily. ..

Looks like he tried to go backwards and got the wire stuck in between his fused horns. :\ Stinks. That's why I like a good zap on our fences. They touch it once and only by accident do they hit it again.

We lost a ewe to electrocution a couple years ago. Not sure exactly what happened, but she ended up laying on the fence while in a big puddle. We got the fence turned off and got her up, but she started having seizures so she was put down. There is nothing you can do at that point.

I thought ours zapped good :idunno... my dh thinks he got rammed from behind... I haven't ever seen them put their heads through the fence even if it was off... and it wasn't. He sure was wedged in there. :hu

I've lost a sheep to just about every type of fencing on the farm. It sucks but it's just a risk of having horned animals. They manage to get themselves into all sorts of weird situations the moment you are watching.

I'm sorry for your loss.
