The KIDS are fine, just had to share.
I came back this afternoon from picking my son up from school. About 100 yrds from my house a coyote ran across the road. When we got home & out of the car I called the KIDS w/ a maamamaamaaa. Nothing! Called again. Nothing. Then noticed the shelter gate was closed! My heart sank, and I ran my son into the house (he's disabled), got him situated and ran down the hill.
They both came running out w/ their little bleats a going. I almost had a heart attack. I don't know if they heard the coyote and were in hiding or what. Evidently the gate wasn't latched all the way open (the shelter, not the pen). I have heard them bleating loud when coyotes are howling, so I'm thinking they don't know any better.
*sigh* I'm not used to this stress.
