I just happened to have a pampered chef crock, the big roast ones and put it out last week to water my goat and chickens. And lo and behold the water has not fozen yet. Its 23 this morning and not even a crust of ice on top. Thought I would just pass this along...

Hahaha those are some spoiled animals! Bet that's an expensive water bowl. Neat idea though!
This is the first year I've ever had the luxury of weather that doesn't freeze the water...it's wonderful. I do not miss the days of going out to break ice in the horses' water tank at six am, frozen two feet thick despite the de-icer in it. (or frozen solid because the horses decided to remove the de-icer and see what its insides looked like.) Now I just have whiny spoiled goats who give me a pathetic face when it's 50 out, wanting an excuse to wear their blankets. Silly goats.
