Perhaps I should explain...I went to a health food market and they have goat meat. I tried it in their cafe, it was Very good. Not gamey at all. So had to buy some meat but want to try it on some fab recipe. I looked in the Recipe section and didnt see any for goat so thought I would ask.
I did find a good web sight called (Chevon-Cabrito-Goat Meat Recipes) from a Google search, along with other sights. However, I did hope that people that raised goats for meat would have some unique recipes.
We never did anything "exotic" with ours when I was growing up. It was roasts, steaks, and ground meat. I want to butcher one of my father's that he wants to send to auction, but my wife just gives me a look when I mention it, but she's glad when I get a deer.
As long as you marinade for 2-3 days or slow cook it, it'll come out really well. Don't hurry it, it toughens up really easy. Smoking or roasting is always good. Crockpot it overnight and YUM Add garlic and any other spice you like and you've got it made
You can make a wonderful stew from odd cuts or I normally use the chops as I haven't gotten the hang of cooking them yet and they cook real nice in the crockpot for stew. The ground meat makes excellent hambergers
Goat is much like venison in that is does not have fat marbled in the meat like beef so it will dry out and get tough quick. Crockpots are definately an easy way to cook it.
