Hi, I used to be Dreaming of Goats but I no longer have access to my old account.

Anyways, my little lease oberhasli doe may need to be put up for sale soon :( I have been leasing her for 3 years, so this is wuite sa dfor me. The farm is giving her one more chance, but if she has udder issues again, she will need to be sold to a place where she will no longer be bred.

So, how much would you pay for her? She has a lot of show and fair experience, and could be registered. She is rather small but has very good conformation except for her sharp-ish shoulders. She can be very bratty in the ring sometimes, and tends to be much better behaved in the breed classes. With regular work she can be an angel, however. She also knwos how to bow for treats and is a real lovebug. She would make an awesome pet, or a good show goat for an intermediate showman. Has had 2 successful births, first freshening was a single doe, the second twin bucks. She is bred again and if she does well milking next season, she will be kept. It is a tough decision at the farm since she is from a line of their very first goat. So how much would you pay? We may have an adoption home set for ehr, they already have two of our goats :) Thanks!

If she is to be sold as pet only and not to be bred, I would sell her off as if she is a wether and make sure the person buying her knows her udder situation and that she shouldn't be bred. Depending on where you live, the price vary. In my area, I can get a registered oberhasli bred yearling for $200 and a wether for $50. Non registered doe is about $150.
Hope this helps.
