:frowI need advice please. I have a hobby farm and I want them as pets. I am having trouble deciding which to get. I have chickens and an area about 1.5 acres that is 4ft fenced. If you think goats which breed has the best temperament and behaviors. Thank you.

Can you clarify what it was you want out of the animals - meat, milk, fiber, lawnmower, brushclearer, pet, 4-H project....

I know nothing about sheep, and very very very little about goats but if you were to give that info it might be easier for those who do know to give a better answer. Good luck!

First thing is what do you want them for? Milk, meat, pets, wool, brush eaters, then we can help more.

Is your fenced area more grass or brush? I can't speak to temperament but if it's grassy, sheep will cost less to feed. If it's brushy, then goats.

Also, for that amount of pasture you'll get more bang for your buck with the dwarf breeds. Plus they're cute as all get out, and easier to manhandle, transport etc.

X2 on the grass or brush.

Also, what kind of pets do you want? If you want a critter that's up in your face, maybe go with a goat. If you want a critter that is friendly, but still a little apprehensive, get a sheep. Also with sheep--do you have a shearer who could shear? If not, go with a goat or a hair sheep.

For a pet I would go with the mini goats. You can still get milk. You might need to adjust your fencing as they can be little escape artists.

It is both brush and grass. One area is fully grasses and the other is brush.

It is both grassy and bushy.
