Does anyone have a buck that tries to push you out of the pen whenever you go near the does or bucklings? This just started recently. Is he being protective of the herd or jealous of the attention the does and bucklings get?

He is dominating you. My suggestion is to use physical force back to establish your dominance before it turns into biting, head butting or charging. I do this with a forceful push on the side that sets them off balance enough that they stagger or fall. IF that doesnt work (rare), i will flip them onti their sides and put myself in a predatory position by sitting in them until they stop flailing (i support my weight so they can breathe and as to not hurt the rumen). If it proceeds after that, they are sold with disclosure or put on the plate -- they can breed that into other progeny and i dont have the time for mean animals.
