Hello! We're trying to decide what plants to add to our pasture for better diversity.

What I want to know is: How do you identify grasses already growing in your pasture?

Thanks in advance!

Please put your general location in your avatar. What grows for me in east Texas might not grow at all in Maine, Arizona or Canada.:lol:

Where is your location?

Each state usually has a web site for wildflowers. grass and weeds.

Bermuda grass and Bahia are probably the main grasses for your area. Contact your county extension agent to learn more about grasses for your area.

I use University of Maryland ag extension alot it has pictures of different grasses weeds that show up here. Your state probably has something similar. Also if you have a smart phone you can take a picture and Google it. I've used that with different bees/ wasps ,plants even a snake.

Where I live in Far North Texas, the Blue Winter Rye grows like crazy in the cooler months, and it is quite abundant!
