My sheep have snotty noses again.
The are eating and drinking fine. Active and alert.
The only symptom is the green and crusty snot on their noses.
Well, I debated on it and decided that I am going to bite the bullet and haul two of the little snots in to the vet. I wanna find out what the heck is wrong for sure.
And better yet how to treat it. It drives me nuts not knowing whats wrong with them.
So Friday the rodeo and vet trip.
To my surprise the office call is only 52.50. If this saves me from any loss on sheep or sheep babies then it is a very small price to pay.

Alsea can you get a farm call instead? I find that having the vet out helps as they can look around and see everything even though they are only looking at and treating one or two.
Good call though. Better to figure out what it is.

Something like 85% of all flocks in the US are infected with nasal bots which cause runny noses. They don't do much to the sheep except cause discomfort from what I've read.

Also, if you just started feeding hay it could have been caused by the dust and leaves.

ETA: Nasal bots are more of a warm weather problem though

I was thinking nasal bots as well because they are not acting sick.
I have tons of ivermectin horse paste. I am going to dose them with that and see what happnes.
I believe that you double the dose for sheeps and triple it for goats.

Here in Oregon our weather is fickle. We can have warm in winter then cold.
