We got a couple of English Angoras about a week and a half ago and will be 7 weeks this week. I keep seeing how often to "harvest" their fibers and how often to groom but is there a certain age to start grooming and when is their first harvest??

I did see a few little tangles behind their ears so I went ahead and worked on those. I was pleasantly surprised how calm the female was b/c she's so active, lol. I plan to do a quick comb over on the male too.

I don't know about harvesting their fur or when the age to start, but I think it's a smart idea to start the grooming process right now at this early age. Though they might only have a few tangles or not much hair to harvest yet, they get used to you and the brush and comb. As you saw, your female was really calm. That's great. But the more you do it, the more they get used to it. And they take it as a norm or time with you. It's all based on trust. Build it. Makes life easier for both of you.
