So I am wondering, I could have sworn I read somewhere that Alfalfa was not good for goats.. to high in protein? Is this true or can I feed my goat alfalfa? I live on a dairy farm and we are feeding her right now some first cutting straight seeded alfalfa hay which was taken over by alot of weeds. So there is some alfalaf in there.. but weeds also is this ok? or should i feed her what we feed the dairy cows? then for grain.. can i feed her straight off the field oats?

Alfalfa is fine for goats. There is some serious misinformation out there on the net concerning goats: both in their care and on dietary issues.

This will be fine...if they eat them! Mine won't! I sprout them for 3-4 days, and then they love them. Can't believe how picky they are. It really boosts the nutrition, too.;)
