So I found a farmer willing to sell me two 40 lbs. bales of grass, alfalfa, and timothy hay for $10 each. This is sooo much cheaper than my current source. Is this reasonable as far as hay farmers go? I'm buying it for two rabbits and a chinchilla. Thanks!

Depends where you are located. Around here, that is reasonable.

Bur for two rabbits and a chinchilla, 1 bale would last you a long time. Do you have to buy two?

Okay. Obviously I'll check it before handing over the money. He says it is soft and green, which seems right. But I'm not an expert, so...

And I'm buying two because I'm about to go to college, and I want to make caring for them as easy as possible for my fiance.
