Hay Quality?

I have some horse hay that is dry and brown, but not moldy. Our pony won't touch it anymore. Is it safe for sheep or should I toss it in the compost?

Not very much nutrition in brown hay, but if it is still soft (and not rough) the sheep will probably still eat it.
