They want to make mandatory rabies shots by a state veterinarian and license and register your horses at the town level at $25 each. Do you think they will stop at horses? All farm animals are at risk of this government intrusion into our private lives again.

Check out nhequestrians.com and if you can make the meeting on Tues. please come and make your voice count. Or at least email those on the committee from the gov't web site........thanks!

It says for subdivisions. Most around here won't allow livestock including horses within their borders.

Yes, it could spread further but, from what I've read of it (with many interruptions  ) it isn't any different than the dog license laws.

Good luck though with the fight.

Well......while we are still a free nation it is up to us to stand up for our rights and liberties as they try to chip away at them to make us a socialist or communist nation.

One person CAN make a difference if we will but take a stand.

This affects those in NH and I hope some of those will not another one of their rights be taken away by the government.

If this is only for populated areas, not rural this is not new at all, it's been going on in Canada for quite a while, and really it's a reasonable law. Horses that are kept in high human population areas should be required to be cleared of disease that would put those people at risk.

I doubt your concerns over cows is valid as they would not be seen in the same types of areas. We see this type of laws being used in very 'town' areas where there is a equestrian center/park for show jumping, racing or such. The horses that board there full time or in for more than a month of training are required to comply, horses in for a event are not.

As much as I hate to say this I am developing the opinion of " If they tax us to death then those in the cities will get real hungry real fast and revolt" In the end they slice their own throats.
