I have a 2 year old alpine doe. I have been battling scours off and on with a few of my goats which I am guessing is this weather, seems after a rain they get the much softer poop for a day and then it clear up... kurt is another story.

Kurt is one of my best does. ... In terms of kidding - She sucks but in terms of raising kids - She rocks. The had taken 2 bottle babies who's mothers did not want them.

I noticed scours 3-4 days ago with her. Gave her some probiotic and sent her on her way. She was not showing any improvement the next day. Another does of probitoic and Safeguard. No improvement. I went out to see her this morning and she looks awful. She has lost a noticeable amount of weight in the last 3-4 days. I pulled her into the barn - Gave her fresh water which she drank a normal amount of and hay the munch on, collected some stool which is now almost water like and heading to the vet to be there by 7 ( only a 10 minute drive).... Also no temp but Paleish gums. Horrible hair too which is weird for Kurt. She has always had an awesome coat and none of the other goats are looking copper defiecient.....

Any one want to offer any thoughts or suggestions even though I am off to the vet I value alot of the people opinons here as well.

With the kind of weather we have been having, my first thought is get a fecal done. So that is great that you now have diagnosis and can treat it.

I've been dealing with a goat with similar symptoms. I gave her cydectin and I'm just starting her on corid. What dosage of the corid did your vet tell you to give?

She is about 125 lbs and her dosage diluted is 40ml for 5 days.

when I head back out to the barn I will get the bottle that has how much corid was mixed with water. I have seen an imrovement in her already. She is still not even close to perfect but has a little spunk back.

She no longer has runny stools either - We have graduated to dog logs :)
