Hello everyone,
I live in lower Michigan. My husband and I own 27 acres for my 6 horses,3 dogs, and several chickens. Recently my husband brought me home a little pygmy doe, which has perked my interest in raising goats again.
I have been throwing around the idea of raising goats for a few years now, but haven't made any commitments to it.
I'm thinking about the small Nigerian Dwarfs, for milk production, or Pygora's for the wool. I love the smaller goats, and Annabelle (the pygmy) should have a couple of playmates.
We had a Alpine wether named Billy G.. He has passed on now, at the age of 13 years. We got Billy at the tender age of 6 months through a rescue of him and several other animals found abandoned and left to starve. Billy was a once in a life time goat. He was never tied up or fenced in, knew the property boundries, and was the official greeter here at the farm. We miss him greatly.
Have a great day everyone. And thank you for letting me join in .
