Hi All

I am from South India but currently residing in US. I am going back to India for good in a month and get myself in to Farming and livestock.

Planning to start with 300 country breed chickens, 50 goats and 2 cows. Have had 25000 chicken,40 goats and 7 cows in the past. My dad used to maintain the farm and i worked in IT. now interested in getting back to the roots. Will be implementing things i learnt from the forum in my farm. happy to be a member and looking forward to exchange knowledge and learnings

wish me good luck and good luck to you all

Regards
Raj

Greetings and welcome to BYH from NE Texas. Glad you joined us and that the forum has been a help to you. Sounds like you've already had plenty of practice and experience all your own! Of course, best wishes for much success in your new undertaking! May your chickens always be happy, plump & lay lots of eggs, your goats be meaty and full of milk, and your cows be excellent cows ;) (Not sure of the religious implication with the cows). Perhaps you should start a journal so you can record your progress, ups and downs, and in that way have a permanent record to look back on and then we can share in your journey :D Just a nthought. Safe travels back home.

Hi Late starter, thanks for the warm welcome. Greetings to you.
I am not an experienced person when it comes to farming or livestock but my father is. I have only theoretical knowledge. My dad will guide me through the journey.
Cow is considered god by Hindus in India. There are lot of other uses from a cow even if it is not producing milk or doing hard labor. will share them as i document them. Yes planning on keeping a journal and share them here.

Welcome from NW Mississippi!!.....:frow
It sounds like ya have a good familiarity with animals and your dad can teach ya the finer points of tending to your own. Sure do hope things workout in your favor and ya have safe travels. Be sure to stay in touch and a journal certainly is a good idea and a way to keep us informed of your developements.
Again.....:welcome
