Hi!
I was told I should join by several friends, so here I am!
A little about me: I grew up on a small ranch in east-central MO. I currently raise Boer goats and Dorper sheep, but we also have various equine, cattle, poultry, alpacas, a couple breeds of purebred rabbits, and house pets. I'm a first-year veterinary student and plan to work primarily on small ruminants and camelids, although I'm sure larger food animals will make up a large portion of my practice.
I've been involved in showing livestock of the above species for my entire life. I also compete with my Border Collies and Great Pyrenees. I was in 4-H for 11 years and am now a 4-H leader for meat goat, dairy goat, dogs I, II, and III, rabbit, and crochet.
I've got a blog going, but I can't post a URL right now while I'm a newbie. If you google "Diary of a Goatherdess," you will find it. I'm trying to be better about posting, but between managing the ranch from afar (I now live two hours from home so I can go to school), actually DOING school, working on my photo notecard business, and spending time with my dogs, I'm pretty busy. I'm also not so sure my life is that interesting:/... but I want to have a journal of my life through vet school.
I love learning and chatting with my internet friends when I am needing a break from real life, so I'm probably going to be hanging around a lot!
