I'm so excited to join BYH and BYC! My husband and I are about a month away from (hopefully, fingers crossed) buying our "dream home" in Northwest Washington. Now, the house itself isn't so much the dream, it's an older mobile painted bright blue inside AND out, but it comes with 13 mostly-wooded acres plus it already has a garden area, fenced goat pen, and chicken coop! We're hoping we can start working on fixing up the house pretty soon, and getting the garden ready for planting next spring since it's all pretty badly overgrown. I'm really hoping to get started with some chickens next year (start off slowly) but at some point in the future I'd also love to have a couple goats, some geese, and possibly a smaller breed of pig like potbelly or guinea hogs.
Totally can't wait - I'm sure I'll be on here for information and advice all the time when we get there, but for now I'll just have to ooh and ahh and live vicariously through all of you.
