I'm new to this group. We live outside of Monahans. We have three children. Two border collies, 48 four week old chickens(10 of which are broiler chicks), currently a 4h lamb. We hope to get Nigerian Dwarf goats around spring, if we have the barn and fence ready in time. We just bought our home on an acre. We are working towards self efficient and less on Store bought. We will be new to the dairy milk goats. But we have had boer goats for stock show. We also plan to add rabbits, and quail. But it's in baby steps to get there. We look forward to the journey that the Lord has for us.

Glad to see you found this forum also - and Welcome! I had quail for a while, and I'll probably get some more soon. I really enjoy them and miss having them now. Just toooo much going on to tackle another project right now. However, I have all my cages and feeders so it will be a simple start up when I do.

Glad you're here!

Bowman85 welcome from Arkansas. I would say be careful and not try to take on too much at once but its taken me years to figure that out.

Welcome from New Hampshire! Baby steps is the way to go. We've slowly gotten to the point where now, we raise (or hunt) all of our own meat. I also have milk goats but haven't produced enough to be self sufficient... Yet!

Looking forward to hearing about your journey!

I as well welcomed you from a different thread but hi anyways :frow.

We just bought one acre in alaska in the last four months. We are still clearing it. Once the property is somewhat clear we are going to get lamanchas.

A big howdy and welcome from another Texan! Glad to have you join us and I'm looking forward to hearing of your journey so grab yourself a beverage from yonder table and come sit a spell. Shoo that dog off the bench. I'd make a rug out of him but he owns my heart, the big lug.

Just incase you didn't see the many pleas for pictures, we here are picture addicts. We love them, love ooohhhhing and aaaahhhhhhing over folks' animals and birds. Please and thank you. We also love seeing the wee folks do well with 4H and FAA and pictures of course.
