Hello, I just learned about this place today… 🙄 I’ve been on BackYard Chickens for almost four years now, I believe.
I have no idea if anyone from BYC is on here, or if the staff and project managers are the same people. 🤷‍♀️
I own 19 chickens and 7 Guinea fowl.

I own one horse, a Welsh pony gelding named Auggie (I am a female. My BYC account is called Pastel the Rooster, so many think that I am a male.)

My mother works at a farm where they have horses, mules, cows, pigs, chickens, and they have a few goats but are getting more soon.

I personally am hoping to get goats within the next year.

I hope to be on BYH (I’m used to saying BYC) as much as possible, but since I mainly have chickens, I probably won’t be in here as often as I would like.

Didn't even realize BYH was related to BYC until last year.

People who only have chickens do know about BackYard Chickens, right? 😳
Lol. It always surprises me how many chicken customers I get who don’t know about BYC. I’m happy to teach them chicken things, but I also usually refer them to the forum to get additional help. A lot of them do know about BYC because they ran across it while researching chickens.

I am one who only has poultry, no “herd” animals. (Yet :hide Don’t tell my husband 😬 ) I’ve been on BYC for almost 10 years. I knew about the sister sites, but never checked them out until May of 2017 when BYC had their big shutdown to change server hosts. And that’s how they lost me. Absolutely love how much smaller and friendly the community is here! As a result, I rarely go back to BYC any more.

It seems like most of the people there are full time posters who never leave their computer long enough to do anything else in life. There may be a thread I get interested in and want to follow. But then it gets clogged up with so many people chatting off topic or being silly. Some of that can be fun, but when you have to wade through 10 pages of nonsense to try to find out if the OP ever got a solution, I just don’t have time for that.

Sorry, rant over. I should have just said “BYH is way better than BYC” instead of droning on! 🤣

Welcome to here!
