New to the site. And here looking for information. Started with Longhorns about 4 years ago have always loved them. And haven't had cows as a adult, but was raised on a ranch and ran behind my Grandfather and helped work his cows.

Since we are already "acquainted" from the bottle calf thread... just wanted to say also. I am at the opposite side of Va from @Mini Horses ... we have met in person and hope to get together again in a month at the big poultry swap... if the Avian Flu mess doesn't stop it...
If you could, go to your name upper right, click and go down to account details and go down to location and put a general location in there, state, area, etc.... I can't remember from one minute to the next where most are located but can look at the profile and it will show up and that helps with identifying with conditions there etc... kinda neat to see where all the members are from...

Several people from the East Texas area...
My family roots are from central and west Texas... but I had a cousin... back in 1860 or so... that lived in Nacogdoches.

Wet area... East Texas... those trees there grow tall.

I remember the first time as a kid seeing a tree that was actually tall... blew my mind.

It can get wet. And I hope we get some good rain this spring. So far we are getting some good rain. Will need it this summer. This area is where my Grate Grandfather came to from Georgia. A friend of his had came to Texas and wrote Him telling him the land was good here. At one point I almost wound up in Alaska! years ago when they where building the pipeline. But that was years ago! kinda wished i had taken that Adventure.
