Hellooo!

Our two 10 week old baby Nigerian Dwarf wethers are Lenny and Squiggy. They are "city" goats and reside in our backyard.

We decided to get two goats with the sole intention of them being "lawn mowers", but have since fallen in love and of course spoil them as much as our other pets. What crazy little guys they are!

My husband's goal is to find other suburban goats in Raleigh and have a "Goat tour", much like Raleigh's "Coop Tour".

We look forward to gleaning as much information as possible from all of you experienced goat owners! Our two came from the Browns at One Fine Acre, so we're off to a great start!

Thank you for the welcomes! We love our boys, they are quite adorable; as was the rest of the herd at One Fine Acre. They were all so charming and friendly! And I learned not to wear silver toenail polish around goats!:p

Welcome to BYH! I'm in NC too :)

Glad you are enjoying your goats! I thought I would warn you though........ You being new to goats and all I feel I have to tell you this..... When you get goats a common disease usually comes with them, its called G.A.S (Goat Addiction Syndrome). Its when you get goats, you love them so much you HAVE to get more. BUT getting more isn't enough, so you have to get a bred doe. BUT that STILL isn't good enough, so you buy a day old bottle baby or 2 (to hold you over until kidding). Then you decide you should get a buck or 2, so you get them. Then you want to travel 6 states away to go find yet another perfect addition, and the only thing holding you back is your family (They think I'M the crazy one- yeah right!)

By that point you are running low on pasture space, so more fencing goes up and you spend all your free time putting up fencing in 90* heat so that your little darlings have more room.

I hope you enjoy your goats as much as I enjoy mine :)

Oh no! I think we're in the early stages of G.A.S. :) Fortunately/Unfortunately, living in the city limits, we're limited to 2. Which is excellent for them; they're going to be spoiled beyond belief!! I am already stressing about coyotes though!!
