we are in a situation that we want a particular goat baby but she has a herd mate that the owner wants to keep with her. Problem is that the herd mate is a hermaphrodite. Vet checked it and said health wise it is fine but has some issues with it's front legs. What do I do?

Hubby and I really want the other doe but don't want to get stuck with a goat that has no purpose. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you may have to look at something else. With being a hermaphrodite, she won't be a breeder. As far as the front leg issues, you didn't say what they were. Some leg issues resolve themselves as they grow or get a BoSe shot. Since you need at least 2 goats, she would serve as a companion but if you already have some goats, that is a mute point.

She said her front legs are slightly curved and don't straighten out all the way. Don't really know what that means. Hubby really has his heart set on the other healthy doe.

It sounds like to me that she may potentially just need a shot of BoSe, running around and time. A lot of leg problems aren't serious and can be solved that way. If you don't mind having a pet goat, then what the heck. You could potentially sell her on down the line as a pet.
