Chillin' with the herd
Hello, newby here. I want to find a thread that is fun and active and has friendly folks to post with. My hubby and I live on a small farm in Wittmann, Az, with my sister, and most of the goats we have are Nigerian Dwarf. Some are half ND/Mini Nubian and have a couple of full Miniature Nubians. My sister has been in the small goats for 20 years or better but I am some what new to it all but learning a lot and have lots to learn. My Kate gave birth to two girls 10 days ago. She is Nubian, I love the floppy ear breeds! Since she has kidded she has a clicking sound in feet or legs, not to sure which. I did post the question on a thread. Got some good thoughts about why. When I am allowed to I will post pictures of the kids. We have 11 kids here from 10 days - 3 weeks old. All but 1 is sold. WE are keeping 4. We don't milk our goats but sell them as sweet pets. Right now I have my hands full with giving all kids special attention and love so they will be super sweet for new owners. I even bring them in the house for extra attention to the more wilder ones. Has anyone noticed that the tamer the mother the tamer the kids are? We have one doe that is flighty and have had to really handle her kids a lot to get them to be calm with me.
