Hi from New Hampshire! I finally decided to stop lurking and sign up

We are a few years into our homesteading journey. We raise Nigerian Dwarf and Mini Alpine goats for milk, Old Spot/Duroc pigs, Dominique chickens, heritage turkeys and at the moment we do Cornish cross and broad breasted turkeys also but hope to get away from those in the near future. We also have pet ducks and two dogs and I am a homeschooler on top of it all!

Looking forward to chatting and not being a lurker anymore!

Welcome from Colorado. I'm also currently raising Cornish Cross. How far along are you?

Hi there! We actually haven't gotten ours yet this year. Last year we did 200, eek! We are only doing 50 this year, for our personal freezer. Ours arrive in a week, along with our turkeys. You?

We are about half way though I think. So the weeks down three to go. I only have 24 though. Where did you order them from?

We actually got them from our local feed store , I'm not sure which hatchery they come from. We ordered direct from a hatchery last year but the post office messed up and we had a huge loss when they finally arrived. I pay a bit more from the feed store but it minimizes loss. We grow ours on pasture and don't free feed so ours take more like 10 weeks to mature. And they act like chickens because we essentially force them to move every day! Never lost one to a heart attack or had leg issues. How are yours growing?

Greetings and welcome from the front range in Colorado. Born and raised in New England - Taxachusetts. Spent a decade stationed on the coast in Maine (Navy). Did many trips to the white mountains and the Presidential range. I love New England, but can't deal with the crowds and politics. Sure miss fresh sea food too. Anyway, Glad you finally came out of the shadows! Look forward to your posts. Make yourself at home!

That's interesting. Got a almost carcass from Welp. We haven't had may issues but I think it is smart to do the pasture raising. Mine are growing pretty well. Hoping to do well with them at County Fair
