Hi from Northern California

I've just moved from crowded suburban San Francisco to 4 acres in the peaceful and friendly Sierra foothills. New to farm animals, but building my goat house and chicken coop and shoring up fences as fast as I can...planning on 3 dairy goats to start ( I'm told Nubians like this climate) and some Buff Orpingtons. Then beehives come spring and who knows what else. It's a grand adventure

I'm reading all the posts I can and trying to soak up this groups shared wisdom to prevent as many newbie mistakes as possible; though I'm sure I'll still make plenty of them!
