And finally decided to join the club! I enjoy learning all I can about farm animals, and while I do have some experience I'm still learning! (do we ever stop learning, though? I hope not!)
A little about myself! I live in East Texas, have all my life. My husband and I have been married 11 years and we have 2 awesome boys, that we homeschool, and a crazy, fun 9 acre farm. We raise our own food on a small scale. And love knowing that our animals are all raised happy and healthy. I want my kids to grow up knowing where their food comes from and to have appreciation for it! Our farm consist of but not limited to:
8 chickens for the best eggs you can EVER eat!
2 miniature horse
2 fluffy cats
1 old but still young at heart, mini longhaired dachshund
2 blue butt pigs
1 adorable rescue donkey named Wanda

The steer is in the freezer.....

I look forward to learning lots and hopefully helping others too!
I have had equines of all sorts since I was 3 yrs old, but have a new found love for donkeys! I love to drive my mini mare Summer, and just love farm life in general!

I speak for everyone when I say Welcome and it is great here!! Everyone helps each other out and you get all kinds of great info here. It's much funner here when you are a member and not a lurker. :)

You're right on about those eggs. Farm eggs are the best!
Now it sounds to me that all you need is just a few goats. Goats make the world a better place.

I love what SHK said.

Goats make the world a better place.

Truer words were never spoken.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my goats.

Welcome from Minnesota :)

It's a great lifestyle to raise kids in. My 3 are all grown now, but now the grandkids are learning about farm life...and loving it!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I did have 2 goats, I LOVED them! I even got really really good at milking, and the milk was amazing! So sad I don't have them anymore. :( But, I will have some milk goats again, when I have the right facilities and more knowledge about milk goats!

This is one of the best places to get goat info from. There are more goat people here than anything else.
