Hi, I'm Sunshine (SummerStorm93). I don't currently have any livestock, but we used to keep Rhode Island Red chickens, Jacob sheep and Pygmy goats. My adorable Pygmy Chocolate Sundae won first prize at the fair the year I entered her... Because she was the only goat in her class in the county... We lived in a small town on an island.

I hope to obtain Angora goats and rabbits to feed my fiber addiction within the next five years or so. We live in NC these days, though, so it might be awhile before I figure out how to keep them cool enough to risk the purchase. As of today, my phone says the projected temperature range is 70F-90F, with stupid-high humidity. It's the humidity that's the difficulty, really...

Greetings and welcome to BYH Sunshine, from NE TX! So glad you joined us. Sounds like livestock is in your future :clap Just because you don't have any at the moment is no issue at all... You're STILL welcome to be here! There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me :oldwill never remember from your 1st post & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!

Haha, thanks @Latestarter, I'll get on that. Nice to meet you. I'm not really sure how to approach people in person with questions, and that's why I'm here. I can edit and clarify. It's enormously helpful when people respond like you do, with clearly laid out information and suggestions.

Welcome to the forum. I joined BYH 5 years before I finally got my sheep. In the meantime, I read, studied past posts and absorbed all I could. This is a great forum, full of the nicest people you will meet anywhere on the internet. So glad you are here!
