I have two does and the one tends to beat up the other one a bit, I have been housing the one in an xl dog crate at night (she's Nigerian dwarf) and the other in the goat shed. I have to lock them in because we have seen coyotes around and don't want to risk losing them. I have been doing this a week and I am honestly tired of it. The goat shed is about 6x10 feet and it's plenty of room for them to share and the one sleeping in the kennel has enough room to move but barely. Plus all the minerals and stuff and in this shed.

My question is if I just lock them both in there tonight will they mellow out and leave each other alone or do I risk serious injury to one of them? They are tolerating each other in the open yard, even sharing hay it of the same manger. But the shed seems to be a territorial thing for one of the does, I think because she is used to getting fed her grain in there. I was thinking tonight I would put them both in, give them both their own grain bowls far away from each other then just let them be and hope for the best. Am I asking for trouble?

Thanks in advance.

I guess all you can do is try. It is really hard to say if there will be injury or not. I would hope if they are locked in and it is dark that they would settle down.

Well just to update, I did put them in together last night, the rustled around for a bit then settled and both of them are fine this morning, and seem to be getting along better than they have been. So it all worked out. :)
