How does registration work with AI (semen)?

I'm finally going to start with goats next spring and I have so many questions. I'm exploring the idea of using AI at first so I can start small and breed up without investing in multiple bucks. I'll be raising fullblood boers semi-seriously with plans to make this my retirement business within 5 years. I am wondering how registrations work when the sire is from semen. Does the semen collector provide this at sale or do you have to write back to the animal owner?

I only know the ABGA & IBGA rules. As long as the buck owner has submitted a Semen Collection Report to the association you will not have any problems. I do my own A.I. so I'm not sure if you'll need a service report from the A.I. technician. I know you do for embryo transfer.
