how does the cold weather effect milk production. We've had a decrease since she was sick, and it came back after we treated her but it's not as much... Do you think the cold weather is also a factor?

The illness is probably what is causing her decreased production. Production may not come fully back until her next lactation. That is just the way it is when they've been sick.

Cows like it between 40-60 degrees so hot weather affects them more than the cold weather. Usually during the winter months, if you have good feed, they fair better than the hot summer months.
