I'm moving soon and I need to know how much space I need to devote to my goats. I have a 3 acre paddock where we're keeping our horse, would I be able to keep my 2 nigi's with her or should I convert some of our field into a new area for them? thanks for the help. :)

3 Acres is plenty.
Just depends on how well your horses would get along with the goats?

Goat grain will kill you horse, I would fence off a space for the goats, just too be safe. 1/2 acre with a shelter should be plenty for 2 Nigerians.

Actually Horse grain can kill goats. Horses need Urea which is a mineral in horse feed. I have seen lots of people keep both horses and goats together as companion animals. I would at first keep them in seperate areas where they can see and smell each other, but not be able to actually touch. If that works out then slowly put them together, but in a controlled enviroment. If you decide to keep them together, just seperate everyone during grain time. Goats catch on quick when it comes to where they get there grain.

I keep my goats/mini horse together.
I do separate them at feeding times to avoid either getting poisoned.
It is a pain in the behind to separate at every feeding, but I refuse to chop up my pastures any further....
Watch the goats and the horses interact. Some horses will try to play too much w/goats and bite at them and try to pick them up and throw them around. Other horses could care less.
My mini-horse will lap smack a bit at my does if he wants to look for feed in the barn. They all run out at that point. Other than that, they all get along.
Ideally, I would like to build a lean-to for the horse and lower my door into my main barn so that the horse can not get in with the goats. They can share the pasture, but I don't really want them around each other inside the barn.... my doe goats do not appreciate the "giant" invading their personal space!!

My goats are getting a barn the horse won't be able to get into, she's way to big to fit in the door, I'm going to build her feeder inside a stall in her barn just in chase. My horse is a Percheron btw, 17 hands.

The nigi's and the horse got along great when she was a yearling so they should be okay.

Thanks for the advice everyone
