How old is too old?

I would like to get a Guardian mini donkey ( or should I go with full sized). I have a small herd of 12 goats that I want the donkey to hang with. I also have a american bulldog that hangs in the field ( only when I am there)

I worry about getting one that is adult age due to not wanting him to harm the goats.

So I guess my guestion is is there a way to intorduce them ? What do I need to get before hand? I am all ears.

And honestly I just think they are adorable

For guardian purposes a full sized is your best bet. Minis are no contest for a pack of coyotes or wild dogs. There noise can be some what of a deterant but that is it. When I got my mini I first introduced them thru the fence and then took hin in on a lead adn walked him around before turning him loose then I set and watched them for a few hours. And I must agree they are adorable I love mine!
