how to determine goats due date?

I currently have 3 goats; one female and two males. They are kept on collar and cable in a field. The female (Sally) broke off her collar one day whichis unknown and I did not think to date this incident as I was not thinking she would have "wanted" the male goats. needless to say she is pregnant and getting a nice size belly and bag on her self. Her hind area is also growing more than normal latley. I was wondering if there are time lines on goats being pregnant to where I would be able to tell how far alone she is?

Not really. Theya re pregnant for about 150 days. Some bag up way before, some right before they kid. Their ligaments (by their tail), tend to get soft then go away right before they kid. Most people say amber colored discharge means within a day or so.

Do you have a general idea of when she got loose? Like, before or after Valentine's day, Easter, etc? If you have a window that you remember for sure, then you can add 150 to the beginning of the window, and 150 to the end of the window to give yourself a loose range of when she might kid.

If she's starting to "bag up", she is most likely going to kid within a month. If you've got some photos, maybe we could look at them and give you a rough guess, but without knowing the date she was bred, nobody will know too exactly. If you know what month it happened in, you can estimate her to be do five months after that.

Agreed. If you have think of just the month or week she broke loose, that narrows things down considerably.

Thanks all for the advise. My father noticed she had the begining of a bag (that would fill one hand solid) on april 1st. I can vagually recall her not getting lose for about a month and a half before this. So maybe mid. Feb I would assume is when she got loose. I will attempt to add pics to this site, I,m new here so wish me luck. Maybe these pics will give other a better understanding of how far alone she is.

If that's the case, I would guess she would be due in mid-July.
