How to put in the little faces and emojis

I thought I saw a thread on how to but the little emoji guys in the text. My phones emojis don’t show up. But I can’t find the info if there is any. So how do I put the emojis in?

You just click on the smiley face in the "comment box" that you are typing in. See picture below. I put an arrow there, assuming that's what you were referring to. Hope it helps.

To call someone to your post put @ and start typing their name. @MtViking Most of the time, the name will pop up and you just click on it.

Nah, you can type the name in if you wish.

ETA: What do you know, it DOES work. I wonder if it was only a requirement in prior versions of the forum software (or if I'm just nuts).
