Ridin' The Range
I used to rotate our French Lops in a 13' x 7 1/2' dog kennel so they could get exercise and nipple on our native grass. Then one day the buck began "barking" and lunging at me to let me know I was trespassing on his territory. Since then he lives next door to the doe he likes in the rabbit cage, and our large doe, who hates both the buck and the doe lives in the dog kennel.
There is a large dog crate in the kennel set up on cinder blocks for the doe to go into to potty in the litter box, eat and drink. The cage has 2 doors and one is always open for her to come and go as she pleases. Yesterday I went out to feed and clean, and somehow closed the door I always leave open.
I went out to feed and clean a few minutes ago and looked into the dog crate and saw that the doe had a lot of food still in her bowl. I looked closer to make sure ants had not gotten in and kept her from eating. When I saw there were no ants I noticed she could not get into her cage.
So . . . I unintentionally saved on rabbit food.
She does have a water bowl outside her cage too and likes to drink from the hose when I fill it. At least she had water.
Stupidity 101
