Hi there everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself and let you know that someone new is on the forum.
I am a city girl that has found a much better life on a small farm. We have the normal stuff... chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, and rabbits. But the reason I joined this forum is we just got 8 goats (1 Momma, 1 Billy, 2 young females and 4 withers) and a 1 year old bull. The Mommy goat just had her baby 3 days ago and I want to make sure I am doing everything right so before I start posting a bunch of stuff that has already been talked about I am going to read first. I will post pics when I get some.
Anyway Hi! and I look forward to getting all the knowledge that I can from each of you.
Thanks
Lisa

Welcome from the Tyler, Texas area. There is a fantastic goat forum here and lots of friendly goaties! Ask any questions you need answers to, the people here who have goats love to help newbies.

We have hair sheep, horses, chickens, Muscovy ducks and we raise feeder pigs for the freezer.

:welcome from the Hoosier state!
Sounds like a good mix. I must admit, I thought your screen name was Big gal at first glance. I thought, ok there's one confident woman. Welcome Lisa, and had you chosen Big gal, you still would have fit right in and been welcomed right well!
Just sayin:duc

Welcome from the San Antonio area! :)

I grew up in the sticks, moved to the city for DH's career, and recently moved back into the country. I'm loving the country life (again)! We have a few head of cattle, goats, chickens, bees, rabbits, dogs, and cats! Until yesterday, we had a wild hog who invited himself in... Now he's chilling at the meat processor's.

Best of luck with all your endeavors! I have to admit, I'm looking forward to hearing more about your bull... Unconventional choice for a first foray into cattle! I'm not that brave... All mine are steers...
