I had my First ever riding accident

It was scary, I was riding my 17yr old Morgan Horse, Merlin and the area we were riding him in was slightly muddy. We were going at a simple trot, nothing fancy. He tripped and Fell on his front knees. I fell head first of him and landed about four feet from where my horse fell. I landed on my side and i scraped my face. The visor on my helmet came off. I need a new helmet now. Luckily i don't have any broken bones, just some brusing.
Merlin is Fine, he got right up and stayed with me till my mom came over.

I remember the first(and only) time I went over my gelding's head. He tripped before a jump (which we shouldn't have been doing anyway, but I was young and stupid) and not being balanced in the seat, I went over his noggin and landed on mine.

Thanks, it was the Worst and Only accident i've had ever,on a horse.
I am so glad i wore a helmet. i'm lucky because it was acctually my sister's helmet and it didn't really fit my head well, i only wore it because i couldn't find mine.
Acctually the same day (yesturday) I acctually stupidly forgot to put on my helmet and started riding, i realized i didn't have it on right away. lol that was not the best day for me. :/
