I hope rolled oats and sumac aren't bad for goats....

I had the bag of oats for the donkeys on top of the tractor thinking they couldn't get it there. It apparently got some moisture because they are starting to ferment and created heat when I put it on top of the hay. One agile goat got up on the hood of the tractor and was eating out of the bag. And sticking their heads through the fence to the poison sumac or maybe just sumac, I think that is what it is. Same agile goat is trying her best to get to the alfapha stashed on top of the coastal hay.

I need it fenced off so they can't get into those areas but haven't got the wood yet

For the sumac, are the berries red?
Sumac is really common at least where I am, and most types are edible. It's even used to make drinks and season dishes.
Poison sumac looks very different, and is far less common- the leaves are broad and rounder, and the berries are white.

I've never seen it have berries at all. Just grows fast green leaves that look like sumac in pictures I have seen.

The goat is still kicking. :)
