He tensed up this time. There was no grunt though, He let four long screams out! At first I thought he hung his danglers on a burr on the wire cage or something. Scared the heck out of me! So I ran inside the house, looked it up and found that it is normal. Im gonna leave her in there for an hour or so and change her out with my other doe that is old enough.

Being new to all of this I couldn't help but laugh when I stuck our first doe in with the buck. He did the standard fall over and growl. With the second doe he fell backwards onto his tail and gave a short grunt. I'm not sure if doe number 2 "took"...we'll see in a couple weeks.
It's funny how differently they can react.

They ARE funny, aren't they? I have two new bucks, and their reactions are so different. One seems to understand what to do, and he even gets the right location, although he hasn't fallen off yet. The other seems completely clueless beyond idly hopping after the female. I hope yours got the job done, I'll have to wait to see if mine succeeded even without the grunt or fall. Time will tell!

Mine all do the fall backward and grunt, and I have litters everytime! Funny isn't it?
