Hi All,
Looking for some goat expertise! :D We have 2 dwarf nigerian wethers...Hershey & Louie...and absolutely love the little guys. They are currently provided with 2nd run hay, minerals, fresh water, and they get a small scoop of Noble Goat Food in the am. They usaully are crazy for the pellets & then continue to stuff their faces on the hay throughout the day. The last week or two they seem to not be going through their hay as much as they used to. We are a bit concerned and are curious if that's normal? The only thing I can think of is that they are eating more of the leaves that are now falling into their yard. They also don't seem to ever eat their minerals - fresh or not...is that normal?

Should I be concerned?? Can you tell I'm a first time goat mom? :)

Thanks so much!!!!

i think as long as they are acting normal and are healthy then they are fine... I have nigerians and they like most goats can be big hay wasters..

Keep offering them minerals. Just put a small amount out for them.

If they are eating leaves, then they probably aren't as interested in the hay.

Thanks for the responses! I still put out fresh minerals...they just seem to ignore them. My guess is they're eating the leaves so as long as that's fairly normal I'm happy!
